Brain Science, Transformational Psychology And Self Identity

Brain science shows that we always behave in a way that is consistent with our self identity. It is very difficult for us to act in any other way.

In early childhood we continually learn huge amounts of information about ourselves. The brain soaks up this info without analysing it. The brain interprets this information and then stores it as truthful and factual. This gives us a lens through which to see and understand ourself and the world.

Within this information we learn beliefs about ourself. We define ourselves by these beliefs. We learn to think certain thoughts about ourself and we learn to have feelings about ourself. These are all part of our self-identity that we carry through life.

For example, we might come to a belief such as - “I will always be overweight' or “I can’t give up sugar” or “I’m really overweight” or “ I’m not lovable.” or "I'm different to everyone else" or "people love me when I make them laugh"

Throughout life, we act in accordance with this self identity. Each time we act in this way, we strengthen our self identity and all of the beliefs and feelings that it's made of.

The many beliefs, thoughts and feelings that make up our self identity sit deep within our subconscious. We don’t have the space in our conscious mind for them.

Our self identity becomes second nature. We think, feel and act in accordance with it. We behave as if we’re on autopilot. We believe our self identity to be a fundamental part of us. We can believe we were born this way.

With this in mind …..

Every client asks me the same question - 'what's wrong with me? - I can't stop eating, or I can't stop eating sugar, or I'm addicted to bread, or I can't face eating etc etc?'

But this is the wrong question to ask.

The real and accurate question to ask is - "what happened to you?"

The reason for your eating problem is because you have learned to have it.

It stems from the brain’s creation of your self-identity. Your self identity today (thoughts, feelings and actions) were acquired from events in your past. Events that happened to you in the past, shape how you think, feel and behave today when you’re around food.

Your subconscious knows everything, forgets nothing and operates BENEATH your conscious awareness.

Your subconscious drives your daily thoughts, feelings and behaviours around food. They play out each day just like an 'app' running on your phone without you EVER NOTICING.

RTT is founded upon this modern brain science and transformational psychology.

RTT’s can reveal from your subconscious hidden parts of your self identity. One hidden part will be the reason and root cause of your compulsive overeating.
